About Bragg FC
Bragg F.C. was started in 2016 within the Fort Bragg area when four soldiers decided to
put a team together and attend the Defenders Cup in San Antonio, TX. The Defenders Cup is a
military soccer tournament comprised of 42 teams from across the country. The coaches were
Pedro, Felipe, Michael and Errol. Though it was their first time entering a tournament of this
magnitude, Bragg F.C. won the September 2016 Defenders Cup. In the following years, the
soccer club fell short of winning the cup but was able to pass the groups stages and make into the semifinals in both 2017 and 2018. In the 2019 Defenders Cup, Bragg F.C lost in penalty kicks
during the semifinals. For safety reasons, the Defenders Cup for 2020 was cancelled due to the
global pandemic.
Since 2016, Bragg F.C. has won many local leagues within the Fayetteville
area throughout the year. However, it wasn’t until 2018 that, with the help of a few partners,
Bragg F.C. was officially established on paper
.
As stated, Bragg F.C. is comprised of mostly soldiers from Fort Bragg area within
different branches of the military. Because of this, the Football Club has had a profound impact
on the soccer community within the military. Since it’s creation, the team has had roughly 15
soldiers qualifying for All Army Soccer with one player earning a spot on the Armed Forces
Soccer and competing in the Military Olympics.
Each day, we strive to play at the highest level of soccer and to give our players the best
opportunity to succeed in their soccer careers. We are always in the community trying to reach
out to other players and help them find their greatest potential. We have a strong brotherhood
within Bragg F.C. and the coaches are always available 24/7. The founding players of Bragg F.C
were Pedro, Diego, Ivan, Michael and Jose. Of those players, are Michael, Errol, Diego and Ivan
are currently coaches. We are more then just a club we are a family here in Bragg F.C.
